Mish mash and hodge podge...

Well, I had planned to do a fun post because I found something fun when reading PITNB but it didn't work so I got annoyed. Well, he had found a Simpsonizer where you can take a pic of yourself and make yourself a character in The Simpsons. I tried like 10 different pictures of me but it didn't like any of them for various reasons so I got all annoyed. Anyway...if you want to try it, here's the link : Simpsonize. Maybe it'll work for you. If so, share! Maybe I'll get a better pic over the weekend and it'll work. We'll see.

Ok, what else....oh yes...my friend loving Annie has taken a walk on the wild side with her new blog doing some erotic writing. So, feel free to stop by her little place but I'll warn ya, you may need a cold shower after. Go take a look at mmmm yes I love that!

I guess I could go on and ramble about a few things so I can stay true to the title of this post. Oh, I am ADDICTED to bad summer tv. Well, not all of it is bad like So You Think You Can Dance...it's actually a really good show and the dancers are really talented. But Big Brother 8, Bad Girls Road Trip, On the Lot, Katie and Peter...yeah...those are CRAP but I watch anyway. I'm sure there are more but I think I've embarrassed myself enough here.

Tomorrow I'm off to do a murder mystery thing and I CAN NOT WAIT! For those who don't know or didn't remember, tomorrow is my birthday and I wanted to celebrate doing something totally different. So, I'm doing this. Then I'm going to dinner with some friends. I was getting a little slack because I am not going to a bar for my birthday this year. I'm totally over it...I get bored. I haven't really been drinking and I don't need to sit and watch others do it. I'm not opposed to bars, I'll still go but just not like I used to. So, that's my quiet birthday plan. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

I think that's it for now. I promised a post today so I had to deliver. I don't like to make empty promises.

I've been tagged and since Annie is so sweet, I will oblige.

Annie tagged me for some fun. Here’s the rules:

* We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
* Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

1. I have a morbid fascination about the Holocaust. I took several classes about it in college and I must see any kind of movie or documentary I can about it.

2. I re-read Catcher in the Rye just about every year because I like to see if my perspective changes as I grow older and wiser.

3. Sometimes when I really have to pee, I dont. I'm just too lazy and I just wait...no real reason for it though.

4. As a child, I watched surgery on tv ALL the time. My mother was convinced I was going to go to medical school because I loved watching the surgery so much.

5. I have only ever been truly in love with 1 guy.

6. I go through food phases. Sometimes I have to eat something every day or I just keep eating it until I am sick of it and then I can't even look at that food for a while.

7. I was my grandmother's favorite grandchild...or so I've been told by many family members. (Aren't grandparents NOT supposed to have favorites?)

8. For a really long time, I was convinced that my mother wasn't my mother because I look NOTHING like her at all and we have NOTHING in common at all physically. In the alternative, I look JUST like my father. One day I demanded to see my birth certificate because I really didn't believe she was my mother. I did get over that eventually.

Now I get to tag 8 people :) hehehe:

1. Jess (I know how you LOVE this stuff)
2. Alosha
3. Prico
4. Jenner
5. Jamie
6. Daya
7. Vanina
8. Chryssy

As many of you know I NEVER do these things at all but Annie wasn't aware of this. So, I felt it was only right for me to do it and you know what....it was kinda fun. Just a little....I'll admit it.

Funny story...and well....time for a new post!

Ok, why the pictures of cars you ask. Well, I'll tell you. So, the above is basically what I drive...I have a 1998 black Saab convertible but mine has black interior, not the tan in the pic. Trust me, this is necessary to the telling of the story. The weather today was PERFECT. Picture the perfect spring day....I know, I know....it's summer but it was a perfect spring day nonetheless. It was in the low to mid 70s. This is also important to my story and why the pictures of the car I chose have the top down because I did today. I try to take advantage of this weather and put the top down because I LOVE IT. Around 8pm, I decided to go to the supermarket and pick up a few things. I left the top down when I parked the car because it's a safe area and I was only going to be gone for a few. Well, here's the funny part, when I come back from putting the shopping cart away (annoys the SHIT out of me when people just leave them all over the lot), there are 3 girls posing by my car and taking pictures. I didn't even realize it until I startled them when I unlocked my doors with the remote. They giggled and were all kinds of embarrassed. I just smiled and got out of the way and let them take the pics they wanted. Hell, why not...they seemed happy. So, they were saying thank you over and over and still giggling. I found this HILARIOUS. It's not like I drive a Ferarri or a Lotus or some kind of car you NEVER see and is totally HOT. Mind you, my car is fine, I like it, I'm not complaining...I just think it's really funny. I only wish my car wasn't an automatic, I wish it was a stick. This is the first car I have owned that is an automatic and well, I don't love it. It was a good deal and that's why I have it but that's another story. That and I happen to be a car person. I LOVE cars. Went to the car show every year and I loved it. My dream is to have a limited edition Porshe Carerra. Yeah.....I need a sugar daddy! Anyhow, that's my funny story...hope it gives you a little chuckle since it gave me one.

Calling all books!!!

For a long time now I have been saying that there are a lot of books that I have to read. I have also been saying that I have to make a list of these books so that I can actually start reading them. So, I started a list today. It's not a very long list yet but it will get there I am sure. It's just good that I started the list because I am the Queen of Procrastination.

I LOVE to read and I have read a lot but I always feel like there are a million books I want to read. I feel like it's my mission in life to read everything that is worth reading. (I know...that's an insane mission but it's the only way I can explain it). If it was healthy and socially acceptable, I would lock myself in a room and just read forever. I guess I might get bored of it eventually and want to do other things but I really do love to read. I guess that was my point. So, I ask my readers to all do something for me. I ask that you all give me your top 5 books and I will add them to my list. Unless I've already read them of course. I do have some standards though....lol. I really don't like westerns. I don't really know many people who do though. Not the HUGEST non-fiction plan. It has to be something I have a great interest in. I like fluff but to an extent. It can't be completely 100% fluff. It has to have something redeeming about it. That's pretty much it. I just love to read and I welcome all suggestions. Also, don't think you have to be limited to 5. If you want to suggest more...go for it. Oh, I am also not really a huge sci fi fan...I've tried. There are some I like but it's a really small area. I also have one more thing....I don't do Harry Potter. I tried...I hated it. I also HATED Moby Dick. I never finished it...it was one of the worst books I ever read. Ok, I'm really done now. It's all you guys now. Take it away! :)

Twins update!

I know I know, my hiatus lasted a little too long but I told you all I'd be bad at this blogging thing. I just don't do it. I know me. Anyway. I know I had posted pics of my cousins when they were first born and having some issues. Well, they are both home and doing well. I went to Jacob's Bris on Sunday and took a few pics so I wanted to share. They are so cute. They are dressed up like little dolls. I think Isabella is so cute but the outfit is a little Jon Benet for me. It's cute though. She also didn't have them on yet but she got her first strand of pearls.

This pic was taken before Jacob had his snipping so he's happy here. I can tell you this...post-snip, he wasn't so happy but I guess that's to be expected. ;)

Well, that's about all for now. I'll try to be better about posting but I dunno. hehe...we'll see. ;)

Blog hiatus due to injury....

Well, as I was unpacking, I hurt my shoulder. Doc at the ER said I might have torn something. I dunno...gotta go for an MRI. So, I'm a one armed bandit for the moment and for that reason, I won't be posting till I have 2 hands to type with again. 1 handed typing is annoying and slow. I'll try to visit other blogs and comment but I won't be posting here for a bit. I know you'll all miss me dearly..lol... :)

Movin on up....

Well, not really but just moving. I'll be a bit MIA for a few days or maybe a week. I spent the weekend packing which was just NOT fun and now I have movers at my place who are packing. Tomorrow is the big move...so I wish I could just crawl into a ball and just not be here. I hate this crap. Ok, I guess I should get back to it. See you guys soon!

Burt's Bees

Well, many of you may know how this tale begins but since there are some who don't, I'll start from the beginning. I had been using Burt's Bees face moisturizer and eye cream for a while when one day....I woke up and my eyes were swollen shut. Well, not all the way shut but mostly shut and they itched like mad. So, I stopped using the stuff immediately. This condition continued for days so I called the doctor. My doctor called in a prescription for steroid eye drops and in about 2 days, I was fine.

So, after all this happened...I called the company to tell them about the reaction to see if there was anything in particular wrong with this batch. Nope...it was a little expired but nothing wrong...it was me. They took down my information and all of the symptoms I had and were going to forward them to some department to make sure the company was aware it happened. I received about 3 phone calls from Burt's Bees people asking me how I was doing. I thought that was really nice.

I hadn't thought about this for a while but I got a call the other day from them and they wanted to verify my mailing address because they wanted to send me a refund check because of all the trouble I had. I thought this was really nice. So, since I can't buy their products for obvious reasons, I urge others to because they were so nice to me and they are all natural and they have some damned good stuff.

Set your TiVo!

On Tuesday afternoon I went to a taping of the Martha Stewart show which will air tomorrow, Friday March 30. As many of you know, I LOVE to watch this show and I TiVo it every day. I will say I was a little disappointed because Martha starved us. I was asked to arrive by 12:30pm for a 2:00pm taping. I was thinking there would be some sustenance since we were going to be there for a LONG time. Well...not really...there was bottled water and plates of chocolate chip cookies. That was all the food we saw from 12:30pm to 3:15pm. So, I was hungry.

I must say that the crowd control was handled well though I did feel like I was being herded like cattle. At least they didn't brand us. So we were herded into a waiting room where they had the water and cookies and a few plasmas playing old episodes of Martha. We waited there for about 45 minutes where we had to fill out waivers and we were given our instructions by the warm up guy. We were told to turn off all electronics and we were also given instructions about how to clap...yes...we had to know the different hand signals for a standing ovation, medium applause, huge applause, an appropriate ooooooooooooh when necessary and finally an mmmmmmmmm for when there was something yummy being made.

After being in the waiting room, we were called to go to the studio. Each ticket had a different marking on it and this was how we were called. I was lucky enough to be blue highlighter which meant I was the second to be called. We got into the studio and it was freezing and really bright of course but it was perfect as it should be since it IS Martha. We got to listen to the warm up guy for another half hour or so. Whatever...nothing too exciting. Then we were ready for the show to start.

Zac Posen was on the show and he had a little spring fashion show which was nice. He's adorable but he's on fire. Then he baked a cheesecake with Martha....that I could smell and because I was STARVING....I was salivating like mad. The other 2 guests were some Iranian chick who went into space as a tourist. She went to the International Space Station to visit. She spoke about the experience that she paid a paltry sum of $20 million to enjoy. Finally, we had Chef Andre something or other...he was the chef at Lutece (used to be a very nice and famous french restaurant in NYC very often compared to Le Cirque) for 35 years. He and Martha made a lamb stew....yeah....with the aroma of this my stomach began to digest itself.

After the taping, the chef took some questions so I asked a question about making stew since my meat always seems to be tough...never gets really tender. He gave me a few tips. Said to make sure I always keep it in the gravy and don't allow it to dry out. He also said to always use shoulder meat. We'll see.

Georgia and I were seated in the 3rd row on the aisle. We are behind the seating on the floor and we are in the middle section. I'm wearing a green t and Georgia is wearing a grey blazer. I think we were caught cracking up on camera during the Zac Posen segment. This is the funny thing. I had just said something about one of the crew being pregnant to Georgia. There were a lot of pregnant women. So, after I said something, Georgia looked at her and looked at me and said, "Um, that's not pregnant....she's just really fat." Well, oops on my part...she really did look pregnant. So, that's why we were laughing.

Many times Martha gives out some really good stuff. I've seen her give away digital cameras, gift cards to various stores, books, etc. Well, we were told in the beginning that there were no giveaways at this show. Well, as we left the building, they were handing stuff out. I couldn't see what it was until I got up to the front. It was actually two things. One was a little bag of toiletries and samples of shampoos and other fun stuff. Not bad. Well, the other giveaway just left me baffled. We were each given a box of Barilla linguine. Yup, I got a $1 box of pasta. Wonderful.

Today on the show....the audience got 2 tickets to the circus, giant ziploc bags (they were a good thing) and the book 1000 Places to See Before You Die. I got pasta. YAY!

Babies are doing well...

The babies are starting to eat. They have to be fed through a feeding tube since they can't suck yet. She is eating about 1/5 of an ounce of breast milk every 3 hours. They have IV lipids and fats to bulk em up and they are off the oxygen. So, all is well. The first pic is Jacob and the other two are Isabella. So, looks like everything is good and going in the right direction. I wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes, it means a lot. I'll get back to my ranting posts soon....these kids did warm my cold heart though. :) How can they not, look at them! OK, I'll stop gushing. Happy Monday to everyone and hope it's a good week.
